Artifakt was in AWS Summit Paris
The Artifakt team attended presentations, and networked with existing partners, clients, and other members of the Amazon Web Services world.
The AWS Summit was also an opportunity for Artifakt to meet new hosts and editors in order to form strategic partnerships with them.
The topics presented by the speakers (Dr. Werner VOGELS, CTO, Amazon.com, Julien SIMON, Principal Technical Evangelist, AWS, Andy JASSY, Chief Executive Officer, AWS) focused primarily on the issues of scalability, security, and stability around the use and maintenance of web applications in the Amazon Cloud. Artifakt.io focuses on offering web agencies, hosts, and end-user clients a web interface in SaaS that is easy to build, deploy and manage in the Cloud.
|At the keynote address, Werner VOGELS highlighted the “superpowers” that AWS makes available to CIO’s, thanks to its more than 1,000 services and functionalities.|
- Security is essential in a world where all companies are equally vulnerable to ransomware and cyber crimes. The CTO affirmed that security has always been a priority of AWS, and that no one has invested more in that area, especially in providing clients with new tools to protect their data (AWS Shield, AWS CloudHSM, AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM), AWS CloudTrail, etc.).
- Speed is, according to Werner VOGELS, the principal motivation of businesses to move to the Cloud. AWS has a large and expansive ecosystem which permits a rapid evolution for its clients. In order to respond to the needs related to compute services, AWS regularly offers new tools such as Amazon EC2 F1 Instances, which permits the creation of hardware acceleration that is customized to an application.
- Being serverless offers the “power of invisibility”. The Cloud frees clients from having to deal with buying and maintaining servers. But it more importantly allows guaranteed performance on a pay-per-use basis. Lambda, the AWS serverless compute service, was expanded this year to include Step Functions, a new feature that allows the organization of workflows.
- Big Data permits the collection of an infinite amount of data, and thanks to different tools offered by AWS, such as Redshift Spectrum and Amazon Athena, it is now easy to run queries and analyze this data.
Evolutions that were started by Amazon Web Services with the objective of moving and securing, little by little, all CIO’s to the Cloud…
